We believe that literacy and numeracy are at the heart of a child’s academic foundation. Parents are encouraged to be active participants in their child’s educational journey by reading daily with their children and ensuring homework is completed as a key tool for consolidating concepts taught in class.
Our academic programme follows the CAPS curriculum (Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement) as set out by the Department of Basic Education. This framework offers clear, practical guidelines for both instruction and assessment across all subjects.
In support of CAPS, Beez Academy integrates the Jolly Phonics programme into our Foundation Phase literacy curriculum. This fun, multi-sensory approach to learning uses actions, songs, and stories to make reading an exciting experience for young learners. Parents are also encouraged to explore the Jolly Phonics mobile app, which supports reading development at home.
Our Mathematics curriculum is enriched through the NumberSense programme, which fosters creative and critical thinking. It encourages learners to explore multiple ways to solve mathematical problems, promoting deeper understanding and logical reasoning.
We also introduce learners to Thinking Maps, a visual tool developed by Thinking Schools South Africa (TSSA) to help learners organize and internalize information. These tools enhance classroom learning and develop lifelong thinking skills.
As part of our growing focus on digital literacy, computer lessons, coding, and robotics are offered through our upgraded Technology Centre. Learners from Grade R to Grade 7 are introduced to age-appropriate programmes that build their confidence and skills in the digital world.
For learners who need extra support, we offer academic reinforcement classes after school. These small-group sessions allow learners to revisit key concepts and receive focused assistance.
